Terms and Conditions

Harrold & Lloyd – Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 11/12/2025

These Terms & Conditions govern the sale of products by Harrold & Lloyd Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) through our website. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Basis of Contract

1.1 All orders placed through our website constitute an offer to purchase products in accordance with these Terms.

1.2 A contract is formed only when we accept your order and dispatch the goods. Website content, product descriptions, imagery, and pricing do not constitute a legally binding offer.

1.3 We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including for errors in pricing, availability, or suspected misuse.

2. Products & Manufacture

2.1 All Harrold & Lloyd products are made to order, manufactured specifically for each customer.

2.2 Manufacture times vary by product and are stated on individual product pages. These times are estimates only and not guaranteed.

2.3 Once manufacture is complete, items are typically dispatched within 1–3 working days.

2.4 Minor design, dimensional, or process-driven adjustments may be made where required for manufacturing, material, or regulatory reasons, without affecting the overall character or function of the product.

3. Material Characteristics & Natural Variation

3.1 Our products are crafted using premium materials including, but not limited to, carbon fibre, brass, stainless steel, copper, chrome, nickel, and painted finishes.

3.2 Due to the nature of these materials, natural variation and ageing may occur, including but not limited to:

  • Patina development or tonal change (especially brass, copper, nickel)
  • Oxidation or surface variation
  • Yellowing or colour shift in carbon fibre resins over time
  • Changes caused by UV exposure, humidity, temperature, salt air, or atmospheric conditions
  • Minor variations in weave, grain, polish, gloss level, or surface texture

3.3 These characteristics are not defects, but inherent qualities of premium materials and bespoke manufacturing.

4. Pricing & Payment

4.1 All prices are listed in GBP (£) unless otherwise stated.

4.2 Full payment is required before manufacture or dispatch.

4.3 We accept payment via major credit and debit cards, PayPal, and other methods made available at checkout.

4.4 We reserve the right to cancel orders where payment fails, is reversed, or is suspected to be fraudulent.

5. Delivery & Shipping

5.1 We ship domestically and internationally. Delivery charges are calculated at checkout using real-time carrier rates.

5.2 Delivery dates are estimates only and delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our control.

5.3 Risk of loss or damage to goods passes to you upon delivery to the address provided.

5.4 Title (ownership) of the goods does not pass until full payment has been received in cleared funds.

6. Inspection & Damage in Transit

6.1 All goods must be inspected upon receipt.

6.2 Any damage sustained during transit must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, accompanied by clear photographic evidence of both the product and original packaging.

6.3 Failure to report damage within this timeframe may affect eligibility for replacement or refund.

7. Returns & Cancellation

7.1 Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, UK customers may cancel an order within 14 days, except where goods are made to order or personalised.

7.2 As all Harrold & Lloyd products are made to order, returns are not accepted unless the item is faulty or not as described.

7.3 Approved returns must be unused, in original condition, and securely packaged. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed.

8. Installation & Use

8.1 Our products are decorative architectural hardware and must be installed in accordance with our guidelines.

8.2 Professional installation is strongly recommended where applicable.

8.3 We accept no liability for damage, failure, or injury arising from:

  • Improper installation
  • Use of incorrect fixings
  • Modification or misuse
  • Installation by third parties

8.4 Products must be used only for their intended purpose.

9. Warranty & Liability

9.1 We warrant that products will be free from manufacturing defects at the point of dispatch.

9.2 This warranty does not cover:

  • Fair wear and tear
  • Environmental exposure
  • Natural material ageing
  • Improper installation or maintenance
  • Accidental damage or misuse

9.3 To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss
  • We exclude loss of profit, business interruption, or loss of use
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the purchase price of the goods

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability which cannot be lawfully excluded.

10. Intellectual Property

10.1 All designs, products, drawings, imagery, text, and content remain the exclusive intellectual property of Harrold & Lloyd Ltd.

10.2 No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, or commercially exploited without prior written consent.

11. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, transport disruption, supplier failure, industrial action, or governmental restrictions.

12. Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel orders where these Terms are breached or where conduct is deemed abusive, fraudulent, or unreasonable.

13. Amendments

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith discussion or mediation before pursuing formal legal proceedings.
