Harrold & Lloyd – Product Disclaimer

Effective Date: 17/12/2025

Material Characteristics & Natural Variation

Harrold & Lloyd products are created using high-performance materials including carbon fibre, brass, stainless steel, and other precision-finished metals.

These materials may exhibit natural characteristics such as:

  • Tonal variation
  • Surface markings
  • Machining evidence
  • Subtle inconsistencies in finish

These features are not defects and are inherent to the materials, manufacturing processes, and authenticity of each piece.

Ageing, Patina & Environmental Effects

Many of the materials used by Harrold & Lloyd are designed to age naturally over time.

Changes resulting from, but not limited to:

  • Patina development
  • Oxidation
  • Colour shift or discolouration
  • Resin yellowing
  • Exposure to ultraviolet light
  • Humidity, moisture, salt air, or temperature variation

are considered normal material behaviour and do not constitute faults.

Unless otherwise stated, products are intended for indoor use only. Environmental exposure beyond normal interior conditions may result in surface changes or damage.

Handcrafted Assembly

Each Harrold & Lloyd product is hand-assembled.

Minor aesthetic differences between products are an inherent part of the handcrafted process and ensure that every piece is unique. Such variation is not considered a defect.

Installation & Electrical Products

Where applicable, lighting or electrically-integrated products are assembled using certified components.

Final installation and connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Harrold & Lloyd accepts no responsibility for damage, malfunction, or loss caused by incorrect installation, modification, or misuse.

Professional installation is recommended for all products where appropriate.

Surface Care & Maintenance

Products should be cleaned using:

  • Soft, non-abrasive cloths
  • PH-neutral cleaning solutions

The use of abrasive materials, harsh chemicals, solvents, or improper cleaning methods may permanently damage finishes and will void any applicable warranty.

Damage resulting from improper care or maintenance is not covered.

Mechanical Use & Intended Purpose

Products containing mechanical or interlocking components must be assembled and used strictly in accordance with provided instructions.

Force fitting, tampering, modification, or alteration will void any warranty and may cause damage.

All products are designed for their stated purpose only.
They are not intended to support body weight or be used as climbing aids, load-bearing fixtures, or safety equipment.

Harrold & Lloyd shall not be liable for injury or damage resulting from misuse or unintended use.

Installation Responsibility

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure correct installation and to follow all provided guidance.

Harrold & Lloyd is not responsible for damage or failure resulting from:

  • Incorrect installation
  • Improper handling
  • Third-party work
  • Failure to follow care or installation instructions

  • Fair wear and tear
